Ah-Lian Kor

Professor Ah-Lian Kor is a faculty member at Leeds Beckett University, affiliated with the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing. She contributes to the MSc Sustainable Computing curriculum and is actively engaged in research and development in green computing, artificial intelligence, and semantic technologies. Her work bridges technical innovation with societal impact, particularly in sustainability and public sector transformation.

Her research interests span Artificial Intelligence, Green Computing, Semantic Web, Spatial Reasoning, and e-Government Systems. She has developed frameworks such as the CARE (Continuous Adaptable Reflective Evaluation) model and the PPT (People, Process, Technology) Innovation Value Model, integrating theoretical advances with practical applications in knowledge management and system evaluation.

Professor Kor supervises student projects in expert systems, intelligent control, and monitoring systems. She has guided students in developing systems for a local power station and data center monitoring. Her current teaching includes MSc modules in Green Computing, Digital Media Communications, Research Practice, and AI in Business, as well as undergraduate research and project implementation courses.

She leads and participates in research projects such as Smart and Pervasive Technologies for Environmental Sustainability, Green Networking and Cloud Computing (GENial), and AI applications for nuclear power plant safety. These projects align with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action). Her lab and team activities focus on intelligent computing, sustainable IT, and human-technology interaction.
