معرفی
Agnes Dellinger is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research at the Faculty of Life Sciences. Her research focuses on understanding pollination biology, plant-pollinator interactions, and the evolutionary mechanisms driving floral trait diversification in tropical plant families, particularly Melastomataceae. She investigates how ecological and climatic factors influence floral adaptation, pollinator shifts, and biodiversity patterns.
Her work combines phylogenetic, experimental, and biogeographic approaches to explore topics such as the role of mountain uplift in pollinator transitions, the functional significance of floral structures, and the global distribution of flower and fruit colors. Key projects include the Biomechanics of Flowers and Vibration Pollination and Modelling Drivers of Plant Radiation, both funded by research grants.
Her research has been recognized with the Gertrud Pleskot Award 2020. She actively engages in academic outreach, presenting at international conferences and contributing to public media discussions on biodiversity and plant ecology.
