Agatha de Boer

Agatha de Boer is a Professor of Physical Paleoceanography at Stockholm University’s Department of Geological Sciences. She leads research on ocean circulation dynamics and climate interactions through projects like North Atlantic Deep-Water formation and Subpolar plankton invasions to the Arctic Ocean.

Her work bridges physical oceanography and paleoclimatology, focusing on deep ocean circulation during the Cenozoic, Arctic straits dynamics, and Southern Ocean interactions with sea ice. She collaborates with observationalists and modelers to address climate-ocean systematics.
