Dr hab. Agata Skała is a Professor at the Department of Polish Literature History, part of the Faculty of Arts at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS), where she has worked since 2003. Specializing in axiological and philosophical aspects of literature, her research focuses on sacred themes in Polish modernist works, 19th-20th century Polish literature, and cultural interpretations. She has supervised multiple PhD students and organized numerous academic conferences under the TYGIEL Foundation.

Her research explores intersections of religion, aesthetics, and philosophy in literature, with particular attention to authors like Adolf Dygasiński, Zygmunt Kubiak, and Karol Wojtyła. She emphasizes literary value systems and transcultural influences.
Scientific awards include the 2014 UMCS Rector's Award for her habilitation work on Dygasiński. She has edited multiple volumes on philosophical literary themes and cultural interpretations.
