Agata Seweryn

Dr. hab. Agata Seweryn, holding the title of Professor at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), serves in the Department of Enlightenment Literature, Romanticism and Art Criticism within the Institute of Literary Studies at the Faculty of Humanities. Her academic career spans decades of dedicated scholarship focused on Polish literary traditions from the Enlightenment through Romanticism, with particular emphasis on the intersections between literature and music.

Professor Seweryn's research interests form a cohesive interdisciplinary framework examining Polish Enlightenment literature, Romanticism, literary criticism, and the complex relationship between music and literature. Her work demonstrates particular expertise in Norwid studies and Chopin's cultural reception, revealing how musical elements permeate literary works and vice versa. She has made significant contributions to understanding how Polish Romantic poets engaged with musical forms and how composers interpreted literary works.
