Aga Wielocha is a researcher and collection care professional specializing in contemporary art. She holds a PhD from the Amsterdam School for Heritage and Memory Studies at the University of Amsterdam, earned through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie-funded NACCA project, and an MA in Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art from the Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw, Poland.
Her research focuses on institutional collecting and preservation of processual contemporary art formats, including participatory art and performance. She has lectured, presented, and written extensively on these topics, contributing to debates on authenticity, dark heritage, and feminist/queer approaches in heritage studies.
Aga previously worked as a conservator at the Hong Kong M+ Museum (2019–2022), designing documentation strategies for expanding collections, and at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw. She is an active member of the Association of Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS) and affiliated with its Early Career Research Network (ECRN).
Her contributions to heritage management and museology include collaborations on dark heritage, digital heritage, and intangible heritage initiatives. She has received recognition through a Marie Curie fellowship for her interdisciplinary research in conservation studies.
