معرفی
Dr. Aeryne Lee is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The University of Sydney, specializing in biomedical engineering, medical device development, and polymer fabrication. She holds a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine and Health (2023) and a University Medal for her Honours in Biomedical Engineering (2019).
Her research focuses on developing bioinspired polymeric heart valve replacements to address limitations in current treatments. Current projects include next-generation heart valve solutions. She is affiliated with The University of Sydney Nano Institute, Sydney Knowledge Hub, NSW Cardiovascular Research Network, and the University’s Cardiovascular Initiative.
Key research interests include improving valve design via advanced fabrication methods and computational modeling. Her work integrates fluid-structure interaction analysis, protein adsorption studies, and structural reinforcement strategies to enhance valve longevity.
- Awards: Highly Commended at Sydney Cardiovascular Symposium (2023), NSW CVRN Heart Pitch Award (2021), Vice-Chancellor’s Research Scholarship (2019–2022).
- Grants: Polymeric transcatheter valves (2024), Automated Robotic System for Heart Valves (2024), Next-Generation Pulmonary Valves (2019).
Dr. Lee collaborates across disciplines, contributing to labs and teams advancing cardiovascular engineering and biomaterials.
