Dr. Adzzie Shazleen Azman is a Lecturer in Microbiology at Monash University Malaysia's School of Science, specializing in Actinobacteria research and antimicrobial agents. She holds a PhD in Microbiology from Monash University (2016) and conducted postdoctoral research at Universiti Malaya (2017-2020). Her work focuses on Actinobacteria's secondary metabolites, contributing to therapeutic applications and SDGs related to health and sustainability.
Research interests include microbiology, bacteriology, infectious diseases, and antimicrobial discovery. Notable achievements include discovering Monashia flava, a novel genus, and exploring Streptomyces extracts for antiviral and insecticidal uses. She teaches BTH2830 (Fundamentals of Microbiology) and BTH3722 (Medical Microbiology).
