Adrián Cano Prous

Dr. Adrián Cano Prous serves as Co-director of the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology at the University of Navarra Clinic since June 2023. He holds Associate Professor appointments across three faculties at the University of Navarra (Medicine, Psychology, Canon Law) and at Universidad Panamericana in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Dr. Cano Prous specializes in adult ADHD and eating disorders diagnosis/treatment, with research centered on mental illness impacts on family systems since 2000. His work increasingly focuses on adult ADHD dynamics within marital and familial contexts, integrating clinical psychiatry with family therapy frameworks.

His award portfolio includes the Novartis Breast Cancer Research Prize (2001), Rafael Hervada Biomedical Research Award (2005), and dual 2007 recognitions: Bayer-Schering-Pharma Award runner-up and FEHH-ASTRA ZENECA Award, alongside the 1996 Bloodclub Young Investigator Award and 2002 Spanish Psychiatry Society Clinical Case Prize.

As Co-Director of PRINTEF Family Therapy Research Projects and CNEAI-recognized researcher (2005-2017), he has supervised six doctoral theses while authoring 20+ journal articles, 40+ family medicine publications, six books, and 30+ book chapters. His academic output spans clinical psychiatry and family systems theory.

He directs the Family Diagnostic and Therapy Unit (UDITEF) and has delivered 300+ international workshops on psychiatric-family dynamics interplay, establishing significant clinical-educational infrastructure in marital and family psychiatric care.
