Dr. Adrienne Garro is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist at Kean University, where she serves as Professor in the Department of Advanced Studies in Psychology under the College of Health Professions and Human Services. She coordinates the School Psychology Professional Diploma (PD) Program and teaches courses in both the PSYD Program in Combined School-Clinical Psychology and the PD Program.
- Ph.D. in School Psychology, with a specialization in Early Childhood Assessment and Intervention from Temple University
- B.A. in Psychology from Johns Hopkins University
Dr. Garro's research focuses on applying mindfulness practices to school professionals and at-risk students, developing online parenting supports, and studying quality of life for parents of children with chronic health conditions. Her work bridges school psychology, clinical child psychology, and behavioral interventions.
Her recent publications address exclusionary discipline reforms, evidence-based behavioral interventions, and educational policies like ESSA. She has also contributed to literature on early childhood mental health and standardized testing debates.
