Adriana Valchera is an Associate Professor of Ancient Topography at the University of Salento's Department of Cultural Heritage. She holds a PhD in Ancient Topography and has extensive experience in archaeological excavations and research, focusing on ancient territories such as Ferentino, Alatri, Veroli, and Fabrateria Nova. Her roles include Deputy Director of the Department with teaching delegation, coordinator of student career commissions, and tutor for archaeology internships. She teaches Landscape Archaeology and Ancient Topography across undergraduate, master's, and specialized programs like the Dinu Adamesteanu Archaeology School.
Her research emphasizes ancient topography and photogrammetry, with fieldwork spanning over three decades in sites like Lavinium, Gabii, and Rudiae. She has organized and participated in numerous excavations, including those in Fabrateria Nova (2015–2024) and Sipontum. Valchera also contributes to academic leadership through doctoral programs in Ancient Topography and Cultural Heritage Sciences.
