Prof. Dr. Adriana Raducanu is an Associate Professor in the Department of English Language and Literature at Yeditepe University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Philology from the University of West Timisoara (2004–2007) and has been teaching at Yeditepe since 2000, progressing through roles including Lecturer (2000), Assistant Professor (2008), and Associate Professor (2017). Her academic work spans Gothic literature, Shakespeare studies, feminist criticism, and postcolonial literature.
Her research focuses on themes such as mythological archetypes, cultural hybridity, and the intersection of memory and narrative. Notable publications include Gothic Peregrinations (Routledge, 2018) and Borges on Shakespeare (Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, 2018). She has supervised over 20 master's and doctoral theses, exploring topics like postcolonial identity, Gothic urban spaces, and comparative mythological narratives.
Her recent articles (2018–2023) analyze works by Shakespeare, Borges, Kadare, and contemporary authors, emphasizing intertextuality, cultural symbolism, and political themes. She is a member of the International Gothic Association and the Interdisciplinary Center of Gender Studies. Administrative roles include serving as Acting Coordinator of the Doctoral Program (2017) and Deputy Department Head (2010).
