Adriana Martins is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Human Sciences (Universidade Católica Portuguesa), where she coordinates international affairs for outgoing exchanges and serves on the steering committee of The Lisbon Consortium. She is a senior researcher at the Research Centre for Communication and Culture, focusing on Culture Studies, Film Studies, and Globalization. Her work explores Portuguese cinema, postcolonial memory, and the intersection of literature and history.
Education: PhD in Modern Languages and Literatures. She co-edited books such as *In Dialogue with Saramago* and *Mediations of Disruption in Post-Conflict Cinema*, and has published widely on José Saramago, Manoel de Oliveira, and colonial memory in film. Her recent research includes analyses of Pope Francis' environmental ethics and the role of archives in reinterpreting Salazarism.
Research Interests: Cinema of the Lusophone World, Cultural Globalization, Comparative Literature, and the Politics of Memory. She teaches modules like *Cinema of the Lusophone World* and *Cultures of Hospitality/Hostility*. Her articles blend interdisciplinary approaches, examining how film and literature mediate conflict, colonialism, and national identity.
