Adriana Cuartas

Adriana Cuartas is a Research Fellow and Postdoctoral fellow affiliated with the Division of Water Resources Engineering at Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH). She is part of the LTH Profile Area: Water and contributes to research in hydrology, climate science, and environmental modeling.

Her research focuses on drought analysis, river basin management, and transpiration dynamics, with specific projects in Brazil's Paraná River Basin. She also explores remote sensing techniques for hydrological mapping and surface saturation assessment using models like HAND.

Adriana co-leads the Water Budget Development for Lagan River Basin, Sweden project as an assistant supervisor, advising student Bjerkén, A. on hydrological investigations. She has published two peer-reviewed articles in 2024 in journals like Journal of Hydrology: Regional Studies and Water Resources Research, addressing drought indices and transpiration potential.

Her work integrates hydrometeorological data with environmental modeling, emphasizing practical applications in water resource management and climate adaptation.
