Adrian Wells is a Professor of Clinical Psychopathy at the University of Manchester's Division of Psychology & Mental Health. He is also Founder and Director of the Metacognitive Therapy Institute. His research focuses on cognitive theory, emotional disorders, and metacognitive therapy (MCT), with particular contributions to understanding mechanisms of anxiety, trauma, and depression. His work has led to MCT being included in NHS NICE guidelines for generalized anxiety.
