Adrian Palmer

Dr. Adrian Palmer is a Senior Lecturer in Physical Geography at Royal Holloway, University of London, specializing in Quaternary environments and climate change. He leads research on glacial geomorphology, sedimentology, and paleoclimatology using multi-proxy approaches.

His research focuses on reconstructing past climate variability through sediment analysis, isotopic methods, and geomorphic mapping, with field sites spanning the British Isles to Patagonia. Key interests include ice-sheet dynamics, lake sediment archives, and tephrochronology for high-resolution dating.

Palmer supervises doctoral research and contributes to international collaborations like the Varved Sediments Database (VARDA) project. He has led projects on Patagonian deglaciation and UK Lateglacial environments funded by research councils.
