Adrian Owens is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Studies and Outdoor Education at Sterling College since 1991, and serves as Director of Athletics. He combines academic rigor with practical outdoor expertise, emphasizing experiential learning and environmental stewardship.
Education:
- M.Ed. in Environmental Science, Plymouth State University
- B.A. in Engineering Sciences with a minor in Environmental Studies, Dartmouth College
Research & Interests:
Adrian focuses on environmental education, sustainable land use, and outdoor skills. His work spans forest ecology, trail design, renewable energy systems, and climate science. He actively maintains trails across Vermont and New Hampshire, including the Catamount Trail and Sterling’s trail system.
