Allie Sargent is a Field School Instructor and alumni of the MSOEE program at Alaska Pacific University (APU). She earned her B.S. in Parks and Recreation Management from Western Carolina University and an M.S. in Outdoor and Environmental Education from APU, focusing on pro-environmental behaviors in outdoor-based first-year orientation programs.

Allie has spent 9 years instructing and guiding in outdoor pursuits such as dog mushing, U.S. military trip facilitation, and ski instruction. She serves as Operations Manager for the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) Alaska campus and teaches Wilderness Medicine courses seasonally across Alaska and the lower 48 states.
Her research interests align with Outdoor Education and Environmental Education, emphasizing experiential learning and sustainability practices. Allie also volunteers with the Su-Dog 300 sled dog race and the August Fund, fostering retired sled dogs.
Personal Interests: Mountain biking, skiing, paddling, knitting, ceramics, and canine sports competitions with her retired sled dog TJ.
