Adrian Butterfield is a Professor of Baroque Violin at the Royal College of Music's Historical Performance faculty. A specialist in music from 1600-1900 performed on period instruments, he serves as Musical Director of the Tilford Bach Society and Associate Musical Director of the London Handel Festival.
- Graduate of Trinity College Cambridge
- Former chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral
- Teaching at RCM and international summer schools
His career spans conducting, solo performances, and chamber ensemble leadership with notable recordings of works by CPE Bach, Handel, Geminiani, and Leclair. He regularly directs the London Handel Orchestra and performs across Europe and North America.
