Adrian Andreas Wanner

Dr. Adrian Andreas Wanner is a Group Leader at the Laboratory for Multiscale Bioimaging at the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI), Switzerland. His research focuses on Structural Neurobiology, integrating advanced imaging techniques and computational methods.

• Education: MSc in Interdisciplinary Sciences (Theoretical Physics, Neuroinformatics) from ETH Zurich; PhD in Neurobiology from FMI and University of Basel

His work combines in vivo multiphoton calcium imaging with electron microscopy-based neuronal circuit reconstruction, and he co-founded the biomedical image analysis company ariadne.ai ag. Adrian has explored neuronal circuits for working memory in mice through collaborations with David Tank (Princeton) and Sebastian Seung (Princeton).

He received prestigious awards including the SERI-funded ERC Starting Grant (2022) and the CV Starr Fellowship. His research spans neurobiology, computational modeling, and synchrotron imaging technologies.
