Dr. Adriaan Kooy is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Groningen, and a Principal Investigator at the Bethesda Diabetes Research Center. He also serves as an Internist of Vascular Medicine at Treant Care Group, Netherlands. His research focuses on insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, and vascular outcomes, with a particular emphasis on long-term randomized controlled trials (POEM, HOME, PRIORITY studies) to improve metabolic and cardiovascular health. Additionally, he explores healthy aging and diabetes-related biomarkers.
