معرفی
Aditya Sood is an Assistant Professor jointly appointed in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and the Princeton Materials Institute at Princeton University, with additional affiliations in Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. He leads the Sood Lab, focusing on visualizing ultrafast material dynamics for applications in energy-efficient computing, energy harvesting, and thermal management.
Education:
Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University (2017)
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Research Focus:
His interdisciplinary research combines ultrafast spectroscopy, nanoscale thermal transport engineering, and quantum material dynamics. Current investigations include atomic-scale heat manipulation, picosecond-resolution material imaging, non-equilibrium matter states, and ion transport modulation in energy storage systems. The lab utilizes advanced electron/X-ray sources at national facilities alongside Princeton-based laser laboratories.
Recent Research Trends:
Analysis of 15 recent publications reveals concentrated work in: 1) Electrochemical control of nanoscale thermal/structural properties, 2) Ultrafast visualization of phase transitions in quantum materials, 3) Phonon engineering in 2D heterostructures, and 4) Thermal transport modulation through novel material interfaces.
