Aditya Mohite

Aditya Mohite is the William M. Rice Trustee Professor in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Rice University, with joint appointments in Materials Science and NanoEngineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Chemistry. He leads the Rice Engineering Initiative for Energy Transition and Sustainability (REINVENTS) and directs the Mohite Research Group focused on energy materials. His research explores 2D materials, perovskites, and photovoltaic technologies. Mohite holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (University of Louisville) and bachelor's/master's degrees in Physics/Solid State Physics from Maharaja Sayajirao University, India.

Research Interests: Dr. Mohite investigates photo-physical processes in layered 2D materials, organic/inorganic hybrids for photovoltaics, and photocatalysis. His work employs advanced techniques like photocurrent spectroscopy and impedance analysis to study charge transport. Recent focus includes durable perovskite solar cells and green hydrogen production.

Advising & Labs: Supervises a dynamic research group (MPEM) with recent PhD graduates Jin, Hao, and active students Ayush, Faiz. Lab facilities include the Mohite Research Group and Plasma Foundry. Collaborations span academia and industry.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Mohite Research Group and co-directs the REINVENTS initiative, emphasizing energy transition technologies.
