Dr. Adelheid Krah is a Senior Lecturer in Medieval History and Digital Humanities at the Institute of History, University of Vienna, where she has held academic positions since 2002. Her work bridges traditional historical research with digital archival methodologies.

Her research explores pragmatic literacy in medieval archival practices, focusing on Freising's distant possessions, hagiography, and socio-economic structures. She has pioneered digital indexing of medieval manuscripts while maintaining rigorous historiographical standards.
Recent publications analyze 10th-14th century censuales records (2024) and Carolingian marriage trials (2025). Her 2023 book Unter dem Schutz der hl. Maria examines medieval women's agricultural labor and protection money systems.
