Adele Millard

Adele Millard is an Honorary Research Fellow in Anthropology at the School of Social Sciences, The University of Western Australia. She holds a PhD in Business Anthropology from UWA (2016), an MBA from Deakin University (2007), and a BA(Hons) in Anthropology from UWA (1998).

Her academic roles include Research Associate in Anthropology & Sociology for ARC Ageing & New Media, WUN Intergenerational Care & Equity, and WUN Meaningful Engagement of CaLD People Ageing with Dementia in Residential Care. She has also served as Coordinator for the Ageing & New Media Symposium at UWA and participated in the Review of WA Department of Local Government & Communities Age-friendly Communities plan.

Dr. Millard's research focuses on Aboriginal Australian anthropology, rural sociology, communication and culture, business anthropology and organizational behavior, and ageing and new media. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to heritage, native title, ageing, communications, and market research.

Her recent publications examine the Global Survey of Anthropological Practice, cultural diversity in dementia care, and native title anthropology. These works reflect her expertise in administrative structures within anthropology, gender equity, public engagement, and cross-cultural gerontology.

Dr. Millard has served as Unit Coordinator & Lecturer for Communications in Practice at the University of Hong Kong SPACE International College and as a Sessional Tutor for Ethics and Advanced Qualitative Research Methods. She also leads the Adele Millard Consultancy Services as an anthropological consultant since 1998.
