Adela Belackova

Adela Belackova is a researcher and PhD student affiliated with the University of Algarve and its Center for Marine Sciences (CCMAR). She works within the Fisheries, Biodiversity and Conservation group and is based at CCMAR's Gambelas Campus in Faro, Portugal.

• Research Focus: Efficiency of zonation and fishing practices in marine protected areas, species distribution modeling for habitat mapping, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable fisheries under climate change adaptation.
• Projects: MPA4Change (enhancing marine protected areas as nature-based solutions) and MARSW (monitoring marine biodiversity in Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina classified areas).

Training & Skills: Completed a professional development course on "Species Distribution Modelling in R" through the Euromarine Fellowship, which aims to improve conservation prioritization tools and fisheries management strategies.
