Adamantios Arampatzis is a Professor of Movement Science and Head of the Department of Training and Movement Sciences at Humboldt University of Berlin. He also serves as Spokesperson for the Berlin School of Movement Science (BSMS). A graduate of the German Sport University Cologne with a doctorate in 1995 and habilitation in biomechanics in 2002, his work focuses on neuromuscular adaptation, locomotion mechanics, and muscle-tendon interactions under healthy and pathological conditions.
His research group investigates mechanical stimuli for improving musculoskeletal properties, neuromuscular control during locomotion, and neural pathway organization. Key methodologies include analytical, experimental, and computational approaches to understand stability and adaptability in movement systems.
