Adam Torok

Adam Torok is a Professor and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Transport Sciences at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), Department of Transport Technology and Economics. He is also affiliated with the KTI – Institute for Transport Sciences in Budapest, where he serves as Professor in Transport Management. His research is centered on sustainable transport systems, energy and emissions modeling, and transport policy in Central Europe.

He investigates emissions drivers using decomposition models like Kaya and LMDI, and evaluates the impacts of road pricing, congestion, and mobility transitions.

His recent publications reveal a strong trend toward modeling future transport scenarios, particularly concerning energy consumption, emissions, and the adoption of battery electric and autonomous vehicles (AVs) in the EU and Hungary. He frequently employs predictive modeling, scenario analysis, and macroeconomic frameworks. His research integrates economics, engineering, and environmental science to address sustainability challenges in urban and regional mobility.
