Adam Shlahet is the Director of the Brendan Moore Trial Advocacy Center and an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University School of Law. He has managed the nationally ranked trial advocacy program since 2004, teaching Trial & Arbitration Advocacy, coordinating classes, and supervising competition teams. His expertise in trial advocacy education has led to multiple speaking engagements at conferences like Stetson University’s EATS and the Anderson Center Symposium.

Shlahet’s research and professional interests focus on trial advocacy pedagogy, jury instruction practices, and legal ethics in mock trial competitions. He frequently analyzes legal proceedings in media, appearing on NPR, CNN, and ABC News to discuss high-profile cases like the Trump hush money trial. His work emphasizes practical litigation skills, evidence handling, and courtroom professionalism.

As a practicing attorney, Shlahet began his career as a public defender in New York and later prosecuted Medicaid fraud as a special assistant attorney general. He currently leads programs at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy (NITA) and directs the New York City Law Department’s Civil Trial Training Program since 2017.
