Adam S. Hock

Adam S. Hock is an Associate Professor of Chemistry at the Lewis College of Science and Letters, Illinois Institute of Technology, and serves as the Graduate Admissions Coordinator. He is also a Chemist in the Catalysis Group at Argonne National Laboratory. His research focuses on solar energy conversion, catalysis, and electronic materials, emphasizing the development of earth-abundant materials for photon capture and innovative catalysts. He collaborates extensively with Argonne National Laboratory and employs advanced characterization techniques such as NMR spectroscopy, X-ray crystallography, and electron microscopy.

Education: B.S. from the University of Delaware and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Professional affiliations include the American Chemical Society and Materials Research Society. Awards include the 2009 Harvard University Postdoctoral Travel Award and the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Environmental Chemistry Fellowship.
