Adam Poliak serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Bryn Mawr College, with prior affiliation as a Roman Family Teaching and Research Fellow at Barnard College. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University under Benjamin Van Durme at the Center for Language and Speech Processing.
His research program centers on natural language processing (NLP) with dual emphases: investigating reasoning capabilities and inherent biases in language models, and applying NLP methodologies to extract insights from textual data in public health and social sciences. He maintains broad expertise in data science and machine learning solutions for language-centric problems across interdisciplinary domains.
