Adam Mecca, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Associate Director of the Yale Alzheimer’s Disease Research Unit at Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in geriatric psychiatry with a focus on memory disorders, particularly Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. His research integrates neuroimaging techniques, such as PET and MRI, to study synaptic density and neurobiological mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. He leads clinical trials investigating potential therapies and has pioneered novel imaging methods, including a PET technique to measure synaptic loss in Alzheimer’s patients.
