Adam Brown is an Associate Professor at Michigan State University's Department of Electronic Art & Intermedia within the College of Arts and Letters. He holds concurrent roles as a Research Fellow at Ball State University's Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts and Artist in Residence at MSU's NSF-funded BEACON project. His work bridges art, science, and technology through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Education: BA, MA, and MFA from the University of Iowa. Previously served as Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma, where he pioneered the Symbiotic Media program.
Research focuses on art-science hybrids involving living systems, robotics, and emerging technologies. Key projects include The Great Work of the Metal Lover (2012), Origins of Life: Experiment #1.x (2011), and Bion (2006). His practice emphasizes collaboration with scientists and open-source experimentation.
