Adam Biggs is a Senior Lecturer in Jazz at Bath Spa University, leading the Jazz studies program within the Bath School of Music and Performing Arts. He holds a Bachelor in Music (Jazz) from the Elder Conservatory of Music, Adelaide (1994) and a Master’s in Music from Bath Spa University (2011). His academic roles include Head of Jazz studies and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

Research Interests: Adam’s work focuses on jazz repertoire, film and television music, and the intersection of jazz with broader media. He explores how jazz expresses individual creativity, as seen in his analyses of film soundtracks like The Fabulous Baker Boys and Blow Up.

Teaching and Professional Practice: Adam specializes in Jazz performance, theory, harmony, aural training, and piano. He actively collaborates with professional musicians worldwide and has performed with groups like the Lunar Octet and The Dunlop Sisters. Recent performances include the Scarborough Jazz Festival and Petworth Festival.
Labs/Teams: Adam collaborates with the Lunar Octet (touring projects) and serves as Musical Director for The Dunlop Sisters, showcasing his dual role as an academic and performing artist.
