Dr Adam Bibbey is a Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Oxford Brookes University, based in the School of Sport, Nutrition and Allied Health Professions. He teaches extensively across the BSc Sport and Exercise Sciences and BSc Sport, Coaching and Physical Education programmes, supervises postgraduate research students, and serves on the departmental ethics committee.

Research Focus
Dr Bibbey’s research centres on psychophysiology and sport and exercise psychology. He investigates how stress, recovery, personality traits, and behavioural factors influence health outcomes and athletic performance. His PhD examined individuals with attenuated stress responses and their associated health risks. Current projects explore stress, coping and well-being in professional football, the ergogenic effects of music, and strategies for motivating health behaviour change.
Publication Trends
Across the last decade Dr Bibbey has co-authored high-impact systematic reviews, empirical studies, and methodological validations. His work spans women’s health and exercise interventions, hypertension symptomatology, personality-physiology interactions, and the development of psychometric scales for monitoring recovery and stress in athletes.
