Adam Bence Balazs is a Lecturer at German Andrássy University in Budapest and the Bratislava International School of Liberal Arts (BISLA). Previously, he served as a post-doctoral researcher at Sofia University St. Kliment ‘Ohridski’ and a visiting fellow at the Graduate Institute (IHEID) in Geneva. He holds a Master’s in Political Science from Central European University (Budapest) and a PhD in Political Philosophy from LCSP, Paris 7.
His research focuses on new political perspectives for Europe, blending geopolitics and cultural analysis. He explores the historiography of Europe’s present and advocates for the Western Balkans’ European integration through editorial work. Notably, he co-edited a volume on regional identities in the Visegrád Group (V4) and Western Balkans (WB) with Christina Griessler (Nomos Verlag, 2020). Currently, he leads a program on ‘Proximity and Neighbourhood’ in the Balkans and beyond.
