معرفی
Dr. Adam Abersteiner is a Future Making Fellow at the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, University of Adelaide. His research focuses on petrology and geochemistry of ultramafic-mafic rocks, ore mineralization, and melt/fluid inclusion analysis. He investigates kimberlites, orangeites, carbonatites, and lamproites, with a current emphasis on magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE deposits. His work utilizes in-situ microanalytical techniques to reconstruct melt evolution and fluid dynamics. Affiliated with the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Resources (ISER), he supervises postgraduate students in geochemical and petrological studies.
Key research interests include mantle-derived xenoliths, crust-mantle interactions, and the petrogenetic pathways of magmatic systems. He has contributed to understanding kimberlite magma evolution, diamond potential, and critical metal distribution in alkaline magmas. His global fieldwork spans regions such as Iceland, Siberia, and Kamchatka, addressing questions in tectonics, magmatism, and ore formation.
