Abraham A. Brody is the Mathy Mezey Professor of Geriatric Nursing and Professor of Medicine at New York University (NYU), where he also serves as Associate Director of the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing (HIGN). He is the founder of Aliviado Health, an implementation initiative focused on evidence-based dementia care. Dr. Brody is actively involved in leadership as Pilot Core Lead of the NIA IMPACT Collaboratory, supporting national pragmatic clinical trials in dementia care. He is accepting PhD students and mentors early-career researchers in geriatrics and palliative care.

Dr. Brody’s research explores the intersection of geriatrics, palliative care, health equity, and quality improvement. His work emphasizes interventions for underserved older adults with serious illness and dementia, often leveraging machine learning and precision health. He investigates home-based care, care transitions, chronic disease management, and palliative care integration in nephrology and assisted living settings.
His recent publications highlight trends in home-based primary care targeting, telehealth implementation, care transitions from emergency departments, and disparities in home health quality. His research consistently addresses health equity, particularly for Black, Hispanic, and low-income populations.

He has led evaluations of integrated kidney palliative care and telehealth models in hospice and home care. His work bridges clinical innovation, policy, and implementation science to improve care for vulnerable older adults.
