Dr Abiodun Adanikin is an Assistant Professor (Research) at Coventry University's Centre for Healthcare and Communities. He specializes in observational studies using healthcare records and surveys to address maternal and perinatal health challenges. His research focuses on quality of maternity care, long-term birth outcomes, and health inequalities, with contributions to WHO guidelines and global health initiatives.
Dr Adanikin holds degrees including an MBBS (Medicine), MPH (Public Health), and PhD in Social Statistics (Maternal & Reproductive Health). He was a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at Queen Mary University of London (2022–2024) and has received prestigious awards like the Commonwealth PhD Scholarship and Professional Fellowship.
His research interests span maternal mortality, early childhood health, and clinical governance. Notable projects include establishing the Maternal and Perinatal Database for Quality, Equity, and Dignity, and analyzing obstructed labour outcomes in Nigerian referral hospitals. He also contributes to editorial roles at Reproductive Health and PLoS One.
Dr Adanikin’s work aligns with UN SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). He actively collaborates internationally to advance maternal health research and policy.
