Abílio Oliveira is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology at ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. His academic and research work bridges information technology, applied computing, and social sciences, with a focus on human behavior in digital contexts.

His research emphasizes multidisciplinary approaches, integrating topics such as suicide prevention, gamification, social networks, cybercultures, and the societal impact of digital technologies. He advocates for digital citizenship, civic participation, and sustainable applications of information systems in education and health.
Oliveira has contributed to national and international scientific publications and authored books like *Looking Inward* (1999), *The Challenge of Death* (2008), and *Demand* (2014).
