Abigail Trillin serves as a Clinical Supervising Attorney and Lecturer in Law at the Youth and Education Law Project (YELP) within Stanford Law School. She supervises students in direct legal representation of children and families in school discipline, special education, and impact litigation cases focused on educational equity. Previously, she spent 25 years at Legal Services for Children (LSC) in San Francisco, representing youth in education, foster care, guardianship, and immigration matters, and served as LSC's Executive Director for her final 9 years.
Her work emphasizes systemic advocacy to address disparities in education and child welfare. Courses directed include the Advanced Youth and Education Advocacy Clinic and policy practicums examining juvenile justice and educational systems. She leads clinical coursework and practice modules at YELP, integrating legal skills with real-world advocacy for marginalized youth.
Trillin's career reflects a commitment to advancing equitable policies through direct legal services and institutional reform. Her current role bridges legal education with impactful representation, training future attorneys to address systemic barriers faced by vulnerable children and families.
