Abigail Friedman is an Associate Professor at the Yale School of Public Health's Department of Health Policy and Management. Her research focuses on tobacco policy determinants, mental health disparities in substance use, and the socioeconomic factors influencing nicotine consumption. As a health economist, she employs quasi-experimental methods to evaluate federal/state/local tobacco regulations and their impact on population health equity.

Her recent work examines flavored tobacco restrictions, Tobacco-21 laws, and indoor vaping policies.
