Abigail B. Willie

Abigail B. Willie is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Saint Louis University. She holds a B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin (1996) and a J.D. from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law (2000, cum laude). Her professional career includes over two decades of private practice, government service, and academic roles. She has clerked for federal judges, practiced insolvency law, and served in the Supreme Court Fellows Program (2018-2019).

Her research focuses on bankruptcy law, federal courts (non-Article III tribunals), and poverty law. She has taught business law and legal research/writing courses and is actively involved in pro bono appellate work in bankruptcy law.

Notable achievements include the Supreme Court Fellows Program Fellowship (2018-2019) and extensive judicial clerkships across federal courts.

Prior to academia, she practiced at Vinson & Elkins L.L.P. and held multiple clerkships, including with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Missouri (2006–2018). She currently teaches business law and UCC-based courses at Saint Louis University.
