Dr. Abidali Mohamedali is a Lecturer in Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Global Challenges in Science at Macquarie University, with affiliations to the School of Natural Sciences and Macquarie Medical School. He holds roles as Adjunct Fellow and Academic Casual in the School of Natural Sciences, and has conducted postdoctoral research in cancer proteomics. His expertise spans proteomics, bioinformatics, and colorectal cancer biomarker discovery. He completed his PhD in molecular neuroscience at CMRI and has contributed to projects like the 'Protein Biosignatures for Predicting Recurrence of Stage II Colorectal Cancer.' He also serves as CEO of two businesses and president of Welfare Aid International.
Education: BSc (Hons) in Medical Science from Macquarie University (First Class), PhD in Molecular Neuroscience (2011).
Research interests include early detection of cancer biomarkers, proteogenomics, and mass spectrometry applications. He collaborates with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Nanoscale BioPhotonics (CNBP) and contributes to the Biomolecular Discovery and Design Research Centre.
Key projects involve developing proteomic methods for cancer detection, improving DIA-MS techniques, and analyzing microbial proteomes in COVID-19. His work bridges academic research with entrepreneurial ventures and community engagement.
