Abi Saunders is a University Teacher in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University, appointed in November 2023. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Sciences from the University of Leeds (2018), an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Bedfordshire (2019), and a PhD from the Institute of Sport and Physical Activity Research at the University of Bedfordshire (completed 2022). Her academic career includes teaching roles across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, alongside research in clinical exercise physiology and physical activity interventions.
Professional recognition includes an Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) awarded in 2022. Her research interests focus on translating exercise science into clinical practice, particularly in chronic disease management and population health. She is affiliated with the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM), contributing to interdisciplinary initiatives addressing physical activity's role in healthcare.
