Dr. Abdurazaq Amar is a Lecturer (Pathways) at the UniSQ College within the University of Southern Queensland, affiliated with the School of Mathematics, Physics and Computing and the Centre for Applied Climate Sciences. He holds a BSc from Al Zawiya University (2008), an MAppPhysics from National Tech University (2005), and a PhD from the University of Southern Queensland (2017) focused on developing ultra-long exposure UV dosimeters.
His research centers on atmospheric physics and solar ultraviolet radiation, with specialized interests in UV dosimetry, environmental exposure monitoring, public UV risk awareness, and STEM education innovation. He investigates atmospheric effects on UV levels, develops novel monitoring techniques, and designs strategies to enhance student engagement in online STEM courses.
Amar's publications demonstrate consistent focus on UV radiation measurement applications, spanning urban UV mitigation, instrumentation development, satellite monitoring, and public health interventions.
