Abdulhakim BEKİ is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Health Sciences, Uskudar University. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Sakarya University (2008). His academic roles include Deputy Dean (2019–2022), Deputy Head of Department (2018–2022), and current membership in the Faculty Board and Student Advising (41–50 students). His research focuses on social policies, spiritual/social services, child protection, and the impact of social media on academic performance.
- Education: BSc in Theology (Erciyes University, 1991), MSc in Islamic Studies (Erciyes University, 1994), PhD in Sociology (Sakarya University, 2008).
Research interests span social work methodologies, elderly care, poverty alleviation strategies, and the role of civil society organizations in addiction treatment. He has supervised 21 master’s theses and 2 doctoral dissertations, addressing topics like substance abuse rehabilitation and social media effects on youth.
Recent publications analyze spiritual aspects of social work, pandemic-related mental health support, and local governance in social policy implementation. He has authored/co-authored books on human rights for youth, municipal social policies, and spiritual protection frameworks.
Current projects include 'Human Rights for Youth' (2021) and 'Training Life Coaches for Disadvantaged Children' (2016). Courses taught include Social Work and Spirituality (Master’s), General Sociology, and Geriatric Social Work.
