Abdoulaye KANE is the Director of Research and Development at the Rennes campus of UniLaSalle Rennes, holding an Associate Professor position in Process and Product Engineering. He leads the CYCLANN research team, focusing on process intensification, advanced oxidation, and sustainable environmental technologies. His roles include strategic research planning, project coordination (e.g., EU Interreg projects BluePrint and ThreeC), and laboratory budget management.
Education: PhD in Process and Product Engineering (2010, Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine). Professional experience spans multiple institutions including Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie (ENSCR) and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques (ENSIC).
Research interests center on wastewater remediation, photocatalytic systems, and sustainable materials. Key projects involve biochar applications for flood mitigation, soil recycling in construction, and pilot-scale reactor optimizations. Teaching includes courses on air quality, process engineering, and membrane technologies at undergraduate and engineering levels.
Recent work emphasizes synergistic biochar-photocatalyst systems, VOC removal via absorption-biodegradation, and non-linear kinetic modeling in adsorption processes. He actively supervises student projects and has published extensively on environmental engineering innovations.
