Her research explores the intersection of music psychology and empirical aesthetics, focusing on emotional, social, and aesthetic responses to music. Specific interests include musical experiences described as "moving" and "beautiful," and their impact on emotional/social outcomes.
Her current work examines contributors to musical beauty (both musical and non-musical factors), with one peer-reviewed publication in Empirical Studies of the Arts analyzing this phenomenon. Themes span music cognition, affective responses, and wellbeing.
Abbigail is part of the RITMO Centre, which investigates rhythm, time, and motion across disciplines, and serves as a student member of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
