Abbe R. Gluck is the Alfred M. Rankin Professor of Law and Founding Director of the Solomon Center for Health Law and Policy at Yale Law School, and Professor of Internal Medicine (General Medicine) at Yale School of Medicine. She also holds a professorship in the Institution for Social and Policy Studies at Yale University. Her expertise spans state courts and federalism, Congress and the political process, civil procedure, and health law. Gluck has served in prominent government roles, including Special Counsel to the President in the Biden Administration’s White House COVID-19 Response Team (2020–2021). She previously held senior positions in New Jersey and New York City governments and was on the faculty of Columbia Law School before joining Yale in 2012. Her notable contributions include founding the Yale Law School Medical Legal Partnership Program, a poverty legal services clinic, and co-authoring influential books such as The Trillion Dollar Revolution and A New Deal for Cancer. Gluck’s scholarship has been published in leading journals like the Yale Law Journal and Harvard Law Review, focusing on topics including ACA implementation, opioid crisis litigation, and judicial procedures. She has received the Yale Law School Teaching Award (2015) and is a member of prestigious organizations like the American Law Institute and the Uniform Law Commission. Her work bridges law, medicine, and policy, addressing critical issues like healthcare access, federalism, and public health challenges.
